Assessment tool development
During the 25 years of Dave’s professional career, he has held supervisory and manager-ial positions ranging from Supervisor of Planning of a high volume manufacturing facility for Northern Telecom to Director of Demand Fulfillment for Apple Computer where he chaired the COO Forecast review, reduced inventory over $600 MM, put in place a Sales and Operations planning process, and managed the successful resolution of several inventory shortages. Dave also held the positions of Vice President, Supply Chain Management and General Manager/Peerless for Iomega. During his four years with Iomega he was responsible for all aspects of supply chain management, including demand and supply planning, supply chain strategy, network development, and inventory management among others. He reduced the inventory from $365 MM to $138 MM within 8 months, realigned supply chain processes, and redesigned the physical flow network to emphasize speed to market. He was also responsible for the development, introduction and profitability of the award-winning Peerless product line. He negotiated supply agreements with IBM, developed pricing proposals, and was responsible for all OEM negotiations. Dave was responsible for the introduction of product two months ahead of schedule, with established backlog in place.
For the last two years, Dave has been a Principal in the Orbit/Sage Consulting. Here he is responsible for the design and development of a real time, collaborative tool that allows for execution change management across all nodes of a production network. He developed an assessment tool that quantifies the value proposition for customer companies. Dave was also responsible for PRD development and on-site process consulting for companies that adopt the software.
